| Subject: Mongoose VS Executioner? Thu Nov 22, 2007 8:46 pm | |
| Links to the enchants I talk about: Enchant Weapon - ExecutionerEnchant Weapon - MongooseWell, I saw the Executioner enchant and saved up the mats in a few days.. for the S3 daggers (that I'll soon have, hopefully) .. I mean, being Mutilate and getting away some more of the enemies armor .. dosnt that sound just great? Then I started to wonder if Mongoose might would've been better.. atleast on one weapon (as I know Executioner dosnt stack, but Mongoose does). So I read up on it. This is my result: In PvP, and most PvE (as quite many bosses have loads of armor anyway) Mongoose will beat Executioner. Why? Well, as I aint the best with maths, I will just quote some of the smartest (of the 100ish posts I read) about the matter: - Fiercely @ vnboards wrote:
- if you stack armor penetration with available gear, excluding procs you can achieve ~2700 ArP
At best (a target with only 2700 armor) you would be saving yourself about a 22% reduction to your damage This is the absolute best case results you can get with the gear that is in game.
When you start looking at higher armored targets around 20k armor you only save about a 4% reduction

with mongoose you swing 2% faster lets pretend you hit for 100 damage 100 times a minute, with mongoose that becomes 105 damage and 102 hits 10,000 vs 10,710 on a 840 armored target(best case) the 840 reduction saves you ~7.4% reduction in your damage 107.4 damage over 100 hits = 10,740 -> this number varies based on the armor of your target but it only gets worse So.. what Fiercely states is mainly.. Best Executioner possible (if your target has 840 armor or less) will give you a little little extra DPS over Mongoose, in general... But then that is in a situation that nearly never happens (I mean, 840 armor!?) .. and Mongoose also increase dodge, armor and shizzle. Result! Go mongoose, pro mongoose.. not even MH Executioner, OH Mongoose. | |
